Jack Sprats

 

Sauté 1 onion (chopped) in small amount

of fat.  Add water to keep from burning.  Set aside.

Brown 2 lbs. of hamburger.

 

Add onions.

1/2 tsp. garlic salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

Salt to taste

1 tsp. chili powder (more if you like it spicy)

1 cup tomato juice

1/2 cup ketchup

Cook slowly for 1-1/2 hours.

Stir often At the last put in a handful of quick

cooking oats to take up the excess juice.  Spoon

onto toasted hamburger buns.
